Jarell Quansah receives two-match ban for red card in World Cup

Fifa has issued a two-match suspension to Jarell Quansah following his red card during England’s last-16 victory over Mexico. The ban stems from a serious foul play incident involving a reckless sliding challenge on Jesus Gallardo, confirmed after a VAR review. England had considered appealing the sanction, especially after the lifting of a one-match ban for USA striker Folarin Balogun; however, Quansah's ban was ultimately increased to two games. As a result, he will miss England’s quarter-final match against Norway and potentially the semi-final against either Argentina or Switzerland, pending their progression in the tournament. His earliest return could be in the final if England advances that far.
