Jaslene Massey competes at World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene

Jaslene Massey, an incoming Oregon freshman and U.S. junior champion in discus and shot put, is set to compete in the World Athletics U20 Championships from August 5-9 at Hayward Field in Eugene. She enters the championships as the reigning U.S. U20 champion in both events and holds a seasonal world U20 lead of 197-9 in discus throw. Massey has also excelled in shot put, ranking fifth in the world at the U20 level with a personal record of 55-4¾. This week, she is focused on qualifying for the finals scheduled for Thursday, which coincide with the shot put final. In addition to her athletic pursuits, Massey is balancing a summer internship and a real estate career while preparing for college.
