Jason Kidd ranks LeBron James over Luka Dončić and Cooper Flagg

NBA head coach Jason Kidd recently participated in a "Start, Bench, Cut" exercise during an interview with ALL-STAR Magazine. When asked to choose between LeBron James, Luka Dončić, and Cooper Flagg, Kidd selected LeBron James as his starter. Consequently, he placed Luka Dončić on the bench and elected to cut Cooper Flagg from the hypothetical lineup. Kidd cited the prime version of LeBron James as his primary reasoning, noting that he coached all three players during his career. He served as an assistant for the Los Angeles Lakers during their 2020 championship season and later coached Luka Dončić with the Dallas Mavericks. Kidd also worked with Cooper Flagg following the Mavericks' 2025 trade for the player, a tenure that concluded in May 2026.
