Javier Hernandez not included in Mexico's World Cup roster

Javier Hernandez, widely known as Chicharito, is absent from Mexico's roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which begins with the opening match today. Despite being a significant figure for the national team, Hernandez has not played for El Tri since 2019 and was not selected for the 2022 World Cup squad. At 38 years old, he is a free agent after last featuring for Guadalajara and has effectively aged out from consideration for national team duties.
