Javonte Williams, running back for the Dallas Cowboys, has been fined by the NFL for a taunting penalty during Week 1. The Cowboys lost 28-20 to the New York Giants on September 13, 2026, where Williams, who scored a touchdown, taunted the opposing defense afterwards. The penalty caused the extra point attempt to be moved back 15 yards, which was missed by kicker Brandon Aubrey. Williams has publicly apologized to his teammates, stating that the incident was out of character for him and vowing to avoid similar mistakes in the future. He aims to bounce back in the upcoming game against the Washington Commanders.
