This shift comes after a trend where several top Illinois players have left the state for prep school. Davis, a two-time News-Gazette All-State Player of the Year, averaged 23.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists last season. He aims to enhance his skills and compete at a higher level on the EYBL Scholastic circuit. Class of 2028 guard Amarion Smith-Holley will also leave Illinois for Link Academy next season.
