New six-man champions were crowned at ROH Death Before Dishonor (full results). As a result, Jay Lethal made history as the first wrestler to win all five men’s championships in ROH. That is a cool achievement for Lethal, but the real MVP of the match is Blake Christian. Lethal Twist challenged Dalton Castle & The Outrunners for the gold. As mentor, Lethal had the gameplan on point for his students. They were in the right spots to stop the babyfaces from crowd-pleasing moments. Christian and Lee Johnson worked great tactics to isolate Turbo Floyd. When the going got tough on a hot tag to Dalton Castle, Christian iced their momentum by unhooking Turbo Floyd’s title belt. (Turbo wears the championship around his waist while wrestling.) Lethal Twist regained control and surged for high-flying attacks. Lethal landed a flying elbow drop on Floyd. Johnson followed for a frog splash. Christian was next in the 1-2-3 combo for a springboard. Unfortunately, Christian slipped on the ropes. He still managed to shift midair to land a weak leg drop, but he clutched his leg in pain on the landing. This looked like a real injury. Christian limped for the rest of the bout. Despite the pain, he still picked his spots for a few more dives. That man is tough. This clips shows the aerial attacks in that sequence, but it cuts off for Christian’s springboard. Christian blasted Floyd on a springboard uppercut. Christian grabbed his leg again on the mat. Magnum tried to take advantage for a roll-up from behind. Christian kept his composure to reverse for top position on the roll-up. He reached out to hook the ropes to cheat, and Lethal grabbed his hand for leverage to secure the winning pin.
