Jayden Daniels issues complaint over LSU jersey number usage

Jayden Daniels, former LSU quarterback, filed a cease-and-desist letter to LSU regarding his number being worn by current player DJ Pickett. Daniels expressed feeling 'profoundly disrespected' that his No. 5 was not retired. Although Daniels' complaint includes a request to discontinue use of his name and likeness, Pickett plans to keep wearing No. 5, which is part of his NIL agreement. LSU has not yet retired jerseys No. 7 and No. 18, traditionally awarded to top players, while the jerseys worn by Billy Cannon, Tommy Casanova, Jerry Stovall, and Charles Alexander remain retired.
