Jayden Higgins tears ACL during Texans practice, likely out for season

Summary

Houston Texans wide receiver Jayden Higgins suffered a torn ACL during joint practice with the Raiders on August 19, 2026. The injury is expected to sideline him for the entire season, creating challenges for the Texans' offense, which has struggled previously. Higgins, who was projected to be a key deep threat for quarterback C.J. Stroud, recorded 41 catches for 525 yards and 6 touchdowns in the 2025 season. With Tank Dell still recovering from a prior injury, Jaylin Noel may need to step up and fill the gap in the receiving corps as the Texans adjust their roster ahead of the upcoming season.
