Jaylen Harvey records two sacks in North Carolina win against East Tennessee State

North Carolina defeated East Tennessee State on September 12 at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill. Edge rusher Jaylen Harvey recorded two second-quarter sacks and forced consistent pressure throughout the contest to lead the Tar Heels' defensive effort. Harvey helped maintain a three-quarter shutout against the Buccaneers, frequently disrupting the backfield and pressuring quarterback Mason Mims. On the offensive side for North Carolina, Demon June scored three touchdowns on seven carries, while Jelani Thurman recorded 71 receiving yards on four receptions. Defensive contributions also included two sacks from Xavier Lewis and an interception by Greg Smith. Peyton Seelmann led the Tar Heels with 10 total tackles in the victory.
