Mercer quarterback Jaylen King has guided the No. 15 Bears to a 2-0 start to his senior season. During a 62-3 victory over Presbyterian on Saturday, King completed 12 of 15 passes for 236 yards and four touchdowns while adding two scores on the ground. He exited the game at halftime after recording a 300.2 passing efficiency rating, the second-highest single-game mark in program history. Through two games, the Folkston, Georgia, native has completed 64.4 percent of his passes for 425 yards and five touchdowns. King previously redshirted during his one-season stint at Florida State in 2025 following time at ETSU and Gardner-Webb. He retains another season of eligibility beyond the 2026 campaign.
