Jeremiah Smith leads Ohio State to victory over Ball State

Ohio State defeated Ball State 56-3 on Saturday, supported by a dominant performance from receiver Jeremiah Smith. Smith recorded eight receptions for 151 yards and two touchdowns in the first half before sitting out the remainder of the contest. Coach Ryan Day removed his starting receiver to protect him for the upcoming road game against No. 5 Texas on September 12. Smith advocated for younger players to receive playing time during his second-half absence. The Buckeyes offense totaled 671 yards, including 434 passing yards from Julian Sayin. Defensively, Ohio State held Ball State to 165 total yards while maintaining scoring drives in every quarter.
