Jersey swimmers set personal bests at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow

At the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Clara Ginnis and Matthew Deffains from Jersey both achieved personal bests during Saturday's heats. Ginnis completed the women's 200m freestyle in 2:08.15, finishing 23rd, while Deffains clocked 24.34 seconds in the men's 50m freestyle, placing third in his heat and 41st overall. Other Jersey swimmers included Hannah Sterry, who was 25th in the women's 100m breaststroke, and Sam Sterry, 17th in the men's 400m freestyle. In team events, the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay saw Jersey finish seventh in their heat and 12th overall, narrowly defeating Guernsey.
