Jets expect more from Mason Taylor in sophomore season

The New York Jets are looking for increased contributions from tight end Mason Taylor as he enters his sophomore season. In recent OTAs and minicamp sessions, Taylor struggled, including dropping a touchdown pass from Geno Smith. Drafted in 2025, Taylor had a decent rookie season with 44 receptions for 369 yards and one touchdown. However, the addition of Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq in the 2026 NFL Draft and competition with veteran Jeremy Ruckert may limit Taylor's playing time if he does not improve. The team continues to evaluate their roster throughout the offseason.
