Jets explore interest in Mike Tomlin and Lamar Jackson for 2027

Summary

The New York Jets are reportedly interested in former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin as they prepare for the 2026 NFL season, which starts in two weeks. Owner Woody Johnson is gathering information about Tomlin, signaling a potential coaching change if the Jets do not improve from their three-win season in 2025. Simultaneously, the Jets are monitoring Lamar Jackson's contract situation with the Baltimore Ravens, as his future remains uncertain. Jackson's current deal could lead him to seek trade opportunities, especially if Tomlin is hired in New York, which would allow the Jets to leverage their draft picks for a potential acquisition.
