Jets position groups face depth concerns as 2026 season approaches

The New York Jets prepare for the 2026 NFL season with identified weaknesses in several position groups. General manager Darren Mougey has begun a multi-year rebuilding effort. The team lacks adequate backup at quarterback, relying on rookie Cade Klubnik behind starter Geno Smith. The interior offensive line is solid but worries persist behind the starters, with limited options in the event of injuries. At safety, the depth is concerning; behind starters Andre Cisco and Minkah Fitzpatrick, sophomore Malachi Moore has had a disappointing offseason. The team seeks to improve overall depth as the season progresses.
