Jey Uso and Oba Femi advance to King of the Ring finals

WWE Night of Champions 2026 takes place today (Sat., June 27) from Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The show begins at 11 am ET with the free Countdown show, leading right into the main course at 1 pm ET streaming HERE on ESPN Unlimited in the U.S., and on Netflix pretty much everywhere else. The first hour of Night of Champions will be simulcast on the ESPN’s cable channel and features the final matches of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. There is only one man who can stop King Uso and The Bloodline from taking over WWE The most intriguing match on the Night of Champions card actually takes place in the opening hour of the show, which is simulcast on ESPN’s cable channel: Oba Femi vs. Jey Uso. This is the final match of the King of the Ring tournament, with the winner earning a world title match at SummerSlam. Uso is back in The Bloodline and has his marching orders from World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns to win this tournament and then defeat Cody Rhodes to bring the WWE championship back to the family. A lot of critics of Jey’s first world title push are horrified by the idea of this highly skilled technical wrestler running it back as the new King of WWE, and putting The Bloodline in position to dominate WWE programming for many more years. For those fans who want something fresh and are sick of Jey Uso & The Bloodline, Oba Femi is the one man who can stop all of that from happening. The Ruler quickly became a huge star in WWE by destroying Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 and sending him into fake retirement. Lesnar returned to face Femi at Clash In Italy, where The Beast needed seven F5s to put him down. I don’t know about you, but I don’t see where Jey Uso has the equivalent of seven F5’s in his limited moveset to also stop Femi in his tracks, unless maybe he can land 207 super kicks in a row. Despite how much heart Jey brings to every fight, he’s clearly the underdog against Oba in a fair match. But only a fool would expect this to be a clean fight, not with The Bloodline and possibly Lesnar lurking in the shadows with clear incentives to make sure Femi loses the King of the Ring tournament. Is King Uso really about to become a thing in WWE, or is Oba Femi already being pushed to a world title match at SummerSlam? Tune into Night of Champions to find out. The rest of the card Here are the five other matches that are currently advertised for Night of Champions: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Sami Zayn vs. GUNTHER for the WWE Championship GUNTHER failed to beat Cody Rhodes for the WWE championship at Clash In Italy thanks to a bad referee decision. The Ring General is a giant dumbass who tried to solve that problem by hand-picking an even worse referee to officiate the rematch. That man is The Last Real Good Guy in WWE, Sami Zayn. The rematch was an overbooked mess where GUNTHER once again failed, thanks to Sami’s fast count. Rhodes can finally end all this nonsense by defeating them both in a triple threat title match at Night of Champions. For Sami, this match is a chance at redemption after he choked in a WWE title match the last time WWE came to Saudi Arabia. Zayn’s huge loss at the Saudi Rumble is the main thing that has turned him into an emotional wreck for much of 2026. He can put all of that to rest today by finally winning the big one. Then there’s GUNTHER, who may be on the verge of striking out in his third chance at the WWE championship over the last 30 days. However, he can actually win the title today by pinning Zayn instead of Rhodes, so it’s now or never for the dumbass Ring General. IYO SKY vs. Liv Morgan in the Queen of the Ring final Even though Liv Morgan is already the women’s world champion on Raw, she’s greedy and also wants to win the WWE women’s championship. She will get that title match at SummerSlam if she can win the final match of the Queen of the Ring tournament, which takes place during the first hour of Night of Champions that is simulcast on ESPN’s cable channel. The only problem is that Morgan is matched up against top babyface IYO SKY, who some say is the best worker in the company. That means there could be a scenario where IYO beats the world champ in a non-title match today in order to to earn a future title match against her. Meanwhile, WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley is currently injured. If she isn’t cleared to return by SummerSlam, it’s not obvious who Morgan would fight if she wins the crown today. I don’t think she can challenge herself for the world title, but I guess you never know. Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker in a Steel Cage match Seth has said he can’t move on to bigger and better things in WWE until he kills off his creation in The Vision. This is probably his best chance to follow through on that goal, as Paul Heyman’s faction is cursed with injuries, with YouTube douchebag Logan Paul as the latest victim on that front. Seth got his win back on Breakker on Raw, so Bron screwed him out of the King of the Ring tournament. Rollins repaid the favor by screwing The Vision out of the world tag team championship. In theory, a steel cage is supposed to prevent all the outside interference from happening, but that’s rarely how things play out in WWE. Will a new member of The Vision debut and enter the cage to screw Rollins and keep him stuck in this cycle a while longer, or will Heyman have to find some new guys to lead if Breakker loses yet again? Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill for the Women’s United States championship Jade Cargill is trying to quickly climb back up the ladder to championship gold after failing to win back the WWE women’s title from Rhea Ripley last month. Cargill already beat Stratton for that title last year, and now she tries to do it again for a mid-card championship. Tiffy Time has a new ally in Chelsea Green, and Alexa Bliss might also be on hand to watch her back, given the numbers advantage of Jade’s Baddies, Michin and B-Fab. Speaking of which, Stratton was actually pinned by Jade’s henchwomen on the go home show, so it would be a really bad look for the champ if she also gets beat in the actual PLE title match. Trick Williams (c) vs. Ricky Saints for the United States championship “Absolute” Ricky Saints earned this title match by beating Carmelo Hayes. He then stood tall over Trick and Lil Yachty with a sneak attack on the go home show. No offense to Ricky and his revolution, but this feels like a placeholder match for Trick while WWE figures out whatever the bigger plan is for him at SummerSlam in August. Cody Rhodes came face-to-face-to-face with Sami Zayn and Gunther, the challengers in Saturday’s triple threat match at Night of Champions for Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship. But they weren’t alone. Joining them during Tuesday’s taping for this week’s Friday Night SmackDown were Jey Uso and Oba Femi, the finalists in the King of the Ring tournament. When the segment was over, Uso and Femi each had an opportunity to tease a potential SummerSlam showdown against each of the three men in Saturday’s triple threat. But before all that, there was a tense stare-down between Rhodes and Uso. Notably, it was another beat in a series of moments between Rhodes and Uso over the past couple of months. At this point, WWE has enough footage of Uso and Rhodes eyeing each other to create a pre-match highlight package for an event like, oh, say, SummerSlam. But the literal kicker was when Femi arrived at the party on Tuesday, Uso used the opening to cheap-shot Rhodes with a superkick. That’s the same Cody Rhodes who vouched for Uso in 2023 when no one in WWE would trust Jey following his run in the Bloodline. The same Cody Rhodes with whom Jey Uso won a tag team championship, the only partner besides his brother Jimmy Uso that Jey has ever captured tag team gold with. And to make it a perfect trifecta, this was the same Cody Rhodes Jey Uso took up for at WrestleMania XL, contributing to Rhodes finishing his story at the expense of Uso’s cousin, Roman Reigns. That’s a lot of history between these two friends, and nearly as much footage of them staring each other down over wrestling’s richest prize. Add it all up, and those clues point to one conclusion: Jey Uso is winning King of the Ring.
