"AEW commentator Jim Ross provided an update on his health during the latest update of his Grilling Jr. podcast. Ross says something isn’t right with the shunt that was put in his brain during his recent surgery, and he’s now experiencing awful headaches that keep him up at night. “I’m proud to be a part of AEW. I still got my playbook. I still got my jersey. I just got to get healthy. And we’re working on that right now. CT scan tomorrow, then back to the neurosurgeon later this week…this shunt is problematic. …I’m having blistering headaches. They hurt so bad that I wake up in the middle of the night more often than not, 2 or 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning, because I got a headache. I’ve watched too many John Wayne movies over my lifetime to say I’m complaining because I have a headache. The only thing I can say is that it probably would remind me of, what I think anyway, a migraine headache is. They could be debilitating. So, that’s the situation. My wound on my skull is healing nicely. But it’s a situation with the shunt. And you know, you can google ‘shunt’, but I kind of explain it in my Oklahoma way. It’s just they drill a hole in your skull, the neurosurgeon does. It’s not some slapdick that’s a doctor down the hall. You’ve got to have an expert, and a neurosurgeon that’s who did my work. So when they drill a hole in your skull, somehow or another, well they cut you open…then they [take out] the excess fluid, which affects your balance, all kinds of things. I think that’s why I was falling so damn match. I didn’t have my equilibrium…I broke my wrist just last year. Messed up my groin. I messed up my knees. I broke two toes the morning of my surgery. I’m breaking shit right and left, man. And it’s not any fun whatsoever.” It sounds like the plan is for a non-slapdick doctor to adjust the shunt, so hopefully that’s the key to solving JR’s problem. Ross added that when you go to the hospital as often as he has in recent years, you see how many people are worse off. So regardless of what’s going on with his constant health problems, he’s grateful to be where he is right now. Do you sometimes feel like you are also “breaking shit right and left” on your body? Let me know your reaction to Jim’s health update in the comments below, Cagesiders.
