Jimmie Johnson will debut as a NASCAR analyst for TNT on June 28 during the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. The seven-time Cup Series champion previously worked with NBC Sports after retiring from full-time competition in 2020. Alongside Johnson, ESPN’s Marty Smith will serve as a pre- and post-race host throughout the In-Season Challenge. TNT re-entered the NASCAR coverage arena last year, focusing on a five-race, single-elimination format. Johnson's upcoming coverage will extend to events at North Wilkesboro Speedway and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway later in July.
