Joao Pedro scores hat-trick in Alonso's first match as Chelsea manager
Summary

Xabi Alonso's debut as Chelsea manager featured a high-scoring 6-4 exhibition victory over Western Sydney Wanderers in Sydney. Joao Pedro led the attack with a hat-trick, while Dastan Satpaev scored the first goal just six minutes in. Alonso's team struggled with jet lag, but young players like Satpaev and the midfield trio impressed. Chelsea is considering signings for experienced players, including Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson, to bolster the squad following a disappointing previous season.
