Joe Dean qualifies for The Open after winning Last-Chance Qualifier

Joe Dean, ranked No. 268 in the world, secured the final spot in The Open Championship by winning the Last-Chance Qualifier on July 13 at Royal Birkdale Golf Club. The event featured 12 players vying for a single berth after narrowly missing earlier opportunities to qualify. Dean finished the day with a score of -2, 68, earning applause from the local crowd. Fellow Englishman Andrew Wilson, ranked No. 694, finished second and will be the first alternate if needed. Dean has participated in the Open before but has never qualified for any other major championships. The R&A has yet to confirm if the Last-Chance Qualifier will take place again next year before the event at St Andrews.
