Joe Morrell, former Portsmouth and Wales midfielder, has been appointed as a first-team coach for Portsmouth. He will replace Zesh Rehman, who departed the club in late 2025. Morrell, who retired due to injuries in October 2025 after a playing career that included over 100 matches for Pompey, spent last season coaching Bristol City's under-21 team. His first coaching assignment will be the south coast derby against Southampton, following a three-week international break. Portsmouth currently ranks 19th in the Championship standings.
