Former Syracuse running back Joe Morris ranks No. 17 on the Independence Bowl’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. Selected by a panel including media members, Morris is recognized for his accomplishments at Syracuse and in the NFL. He rushed for 155 yards in the 1979 I-Bowl, still ranking eighth all-time in the event. Morris is celebrated for breaking the 1,000-yard rushing mark in three seasons at Syracuse, finishing with 4,229 career rushing yards.
