Joe Root prepares for leadership challenge against Pakistan at Lord's
Summary

Joe Root prepares to lead England for a 67th time in Test cricket against Pakistan at Lord's. Root assumes command in the post-Ben Stokes era and aims to translate his off-field leadership into results on the field. His recent leadership style has been characterized by a more measured approach, distancing himself from previous captain Stokes's intensity. England seeks to build on their recent innings victory over Pakistan at Headingley, with much focus on the Lord's pitch ahead of the second Test. A win would mark their first series triumph since 2024.
