Joe Schoen plans to add veteran defensive tackle to Giants roster

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen confirmed plans to add a veteran defensive tackle before the team's regular season opener against Dallas on September 13. The front office is seeking depth at the position following the offseason departure of Dexter Lawrence. The team current roster includes Darius Alexander, Shelby Harris, D.J. Reader, Bobby Jamison-Travis, and C.J. Okoye. Internal concerns persist regarding the unit's performance, particularly after reports indicated that second-year player Darius Alexander has regressed during the summer. Harris and Reader did not participate in any preseason contests, further complicating the team's defensive interior rotation. Schoen intends to evaluate the market for potential additions before the September 13 game.
