Joel Embiid declares commitment to defense after 76ers edge Knicks

Summary

The Philadelphia 76ers secured a 106-101 victory against the New York Knicks on October 20, 2026. Despite a subpar offensive performance from Joel Embiid, who scored 13 points, his defensive contributions were significant, helping limit the Knicks to 37.2% shooting. Post-game, Embiid expressed his determination to return to his all-defensive team status, highlighting his two steals and three blocks as evidence of his defensive focus. With other offensive stars on the roster, Embiid's defensive resurgence may bolster the 76ers' championship aspirations.
