Joel Klatt moves Oregon down to seventh in weekly rankings

Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt adjusted his weekly rankings following the conclusion of Week 1 games. Oregon, which held the preseason No. 1 spot, dropped to No. 7 after a 34-27 win against Boise State. Although Klatt praised the Ducks for overcoming a 17-7 deficit during the second quarter, he noted the performance appeared sluggish and sloppy relative to his initial expectations. Dante Moore connected with Jamari Johnson for a touchdown before halftime to narrow the gap, while a third-quarter field goal from Gage Hurych tied the game. The Oregon defense ultimately secured the win as the team prepares for upcoming matchups against Portland State and Oklahoma State. Klatt currently ranks Ohio State, Texas, and LSU in his top three positions.
