Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt has named Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith as his choice for the 2026 Heisman Trophy. While noting the preseason attention surrounding Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr, Klatt opted for Smith, citing the receiver's ability to create viral moments and serve as a face for the sport. Smith enters the season with 163 receptions, 2,558 yards, and 27 touchdowns accumulated over his previous two years of play. Klatt indicated that Smith is positioned to reach career marks of 40 touchdowns and 4,000 yards. The analyst also acknowledged that Smith’s teammate, Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin, could emerge as a candidate during the season.
