Joel Klatt pursues role as top college football media voice

Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt has emerged as a primary competitor to Kirk Herbstreit for the status of the definitive voice of college football. Klatt, a former Colorado quarterback, began his broadcasting career calling high school games before joining Fox Sports in 2011. He ascended to lead game analyst for the network by 2015 and currently hosts his own podcast. His profile recently reached a new milestone when he replaced Herbstreit as the commentator for the EA Sports College Football 27 video game. While Klatt faces criticism regarding a perceived bias toward Big Ten programs, he continues to gain influence within the college football media.
