Joey Allen receives Fighting Texans Lifetime Achievement Award

Joey Allen will be honored with the Fighting Texans Lifetime Achievement Award during the Ray Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony on September 10 at the Omni Hotel. Allen, a four-year starter on the first Ray High School varsity football team starting in 1950, joins Ruben Bonilla as a recipient of the honor. Following his collegiate career at Baylor and service in the Marine Corps, Allen returned to Ray as an assistant coach for nine seasons before serving as head coach at King. The school plans to recognize Allen and the Class of 2026 inductees at the Ray-Miller football game at Buc Stadium on September 11. Other inductees include Lorinda Bushong Hamilton, James McMinn, Mark Douglas Medina, and Jason Pineda.
