Joey Kocur shares funny Scotty Bowman story about Kelly Chase

Former Detroit Red Wings forward Joey Kocur recounted a humorous incident involving NHL enforcer Kelly Chase during a recent appearance on the Ice Guardians Podcast. The story took place during a game where Scott Bowman questioned Chase’s presence on the ice, to which Chase humorously admitted to being hungover from a night out with Kocur and teammate Brendan Shanahan. Bowman's typically reserved demeanor made the exchange even funnier, as Kocur reacted with concern about potential repercussions. Chase later confirmed the story and noted that Kocur and Shanahan exhibited shock as he recounted his antics, highlighting the lighthearted camaraderie among players. Kocur played under Bowman during his second tenure with the Red Wings, which adds context to the recollection of this incident.
