John Gil hits home run as Gwinnett Stripers split double-header

On August 2, John Gil hit his first home run since June 21 while playing for the Emperors. However, his three RBI were not enough to secure a win. In a double-header, the Gwinnett Stripers won the first game against the Durham Bulls 8-0, highlighted by a strong performance from pitcher Drue Hackenberg. Patrick Clohisy had a multi-hit game in the opener but struggled in the second game, where Gwinnett lost 4-2. Sean Murphy continued his rehab with a hit in both games.
