John Holobetz shines in Triple-A debut for WooSox

John Holobetz made his Triple-A debut for the Worcester Red Sox on August 4, throwing 5.2 innings of one-run ball after being promoted from Double-A Portland just days earlier. Holobetz, who had previously been named the Red Sox Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July, showed strong command, throwing his first 15 pitches for strikes. His current ERA in Triple-A stands at 0.93, following a solid start at Polar Park where he struck out six batters. Holobetz was acquired by the Red Sox in a trade deal on April 7, 2025, and now finds himself one step away from the major leagues.
