John Mitchell selects experienced Red Roses squad for WXV Global Series

Head coach John Mitchell has named a 36-player squad for the upcoming home leg of the WXV Global Series, featuring 25 World Cup winners. Led by captain Megan Jones, the squad holds a combined 1,234 international caps and includes three uncapped players in Bryony Field, Hayley Jones, and Sophie McQueen. England will begin the series against Australia on September 12 at CorpAcq Stadium, followed by a rematch of the 2025 World Cup final against Canada on September 19 at Sandy Park. The series concludes with a fixture against New Zealand at Allianz Stadium on September 26, where a crowd exceeding 50,000 is expected. The 2026 campaign marks the inaugural edition of the WXV Global Series, which utilizes a fixed structure for participating nations through 2028. Following these home matches, the team is scheduled to tour Canada and the United States in October.
