John Shoemaker will manage the Glendale Desert Dogs during the upcoming Arizona Fall League season. The assignment begins in October and runs through November 11 following the conclusion of his duties in the California League. Shoemaker is currently in his sixth season as manager for the Dodgers' Class-A affiliate, serving his first year in Ontario after five campaigns in Rancho Cucamonga. He celebrates his 50th year within the Dodgers organization this season, having transitioned to coaching in 1981 after playing for the franchise from 1977 to 1980. His professional resume includes 20 winning seasons as a minor league manager and a career record of 1,984-1,863. Before joining the Arizona Fall League roster, Shoemaker will lead the Ontario club into the California League playoffs starting September 8.
