John Vodacek prepares to compete in the Around the Crown 10k

Thousands of runners are scheduled to gather in Charlotte this Sunday for the annual Around the Crown 10K. John Vodacek, who moved to the city in January, plans to participate in the event following a series of recent race victories. Vodacek previously secured wins at the Yiasou Greek Festival, Charlotte RaceFest, the NoDa 5K, and the Charlotte Summer Track Series. These performances have positioned him to contend for the Crown Collective’s Triple Crown. In preparation for the upcoming race, Vodacek has maintained a training regimen involving twice-daily workouts and a weekly volume of up to 100 miles. Coverage of the event begins Sunday at 7 a.m. via Channel 9, featuring start-to-finish reporting on the race course.
