Jolie Chichak prepares for NYSPHSAA tennis title defense

Shenendehowa sophomore Jolie Chichak is entering her tennis season aiming to defend her NYSPHSAA singles championship. The 15-year-old athlete, who became only the second player from Section 2 to win a girls' state title, continues training at the YMCA in Wilton, New York. Chichak recently competed in a non-scholastic tournament in Schenectady, where she placed second in doubles alongside senior teammate Isabel Amurao. The two players are scheduled to face each other in a match on September 22 at Shenendehowa. Chichak, who plays left-handed despite being right-handed, remains focused on her training and collegiate aspirations while participating in the local youth tennis community.
