Mets right-hander Jonah Tong delivered a strong performance for Triple-A Syracuse against Rochester on Thursday night, throwing five scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and two walks while striking out seven batters. This outing is part of a recent trend, as Tong has posted a 3.52 ERA over his last six starts. Despite this progress, his overall ERA for the season sits at 5.59, partly due to issues with walks. With the MLB trade deadline approaching, Tong may get a chance in the major leagues if he continues to perform well in Triple-A.
