Jonathan Greenard misses Philadelphia Eagles season opener against Commanders

The Philadelphia Eagles will be without edge rusher Jonathan Greenard for Sunday's Week 1 game against the Washington Commanders. Greenard is sidelined by a pec strain that he sustained before training camp began in July. While he avoided the Reserve/PUP list, the defender did not participate in any preseason activities and is still working toward a return. Jalyx Hunt and Nolan Smith are expected to step in as the starting edge rushers in his absence. Meanwhile, the Washington Commanders enter the matchup at full health with all players available, including edge rushers Odafe Oweh and K’Lavon Chaisson. Brandon Coleman will serve as the starting left tackle for Washington in the contest.
