Jonathan Kuminga signs two-year contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves

Free agent Jonathan Kuminga agreed to a two-year, $13 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, ending his free agency pursuit. The agreement includes a player option for the former Golden State Warriors champion. Jonathan Kuminga is expected to join a starting lineup featuring Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball, Jaden McDaniels, and Rudy Gobert. His agent, Aaron Turner, indicated the move offers his client an environment where he will be trusted and encouraged in a significant role. The Los Angeles Lakers had been viewed as a primary suitor for the forward throughout the offseason, but the team failed to secure his services. The Los Angeles Lakers now continue their search for a starting power forward following this addition by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
