Jonathan Ornelas has signed with the Milwaukee Brewers after being cut by the New York Yankees and subsequently the Oakland Athletics. The 26-year-old infielder, a former third-round pick and Texas Rangers World Series champion, failed to make the Yankees' roster this season. He was later optioned by the Athletics before being traded to the Brewers, where he replaces Brice Turang, who is sidelined with a knee injury. Ornelas has had a strong season at the Triple-A level, hitting.310 with 11 home runs across 300 plate appearances.
