Joplin girls' tennis falls to Ozark in home match

The Joplin girls' tennis team lost a 4-5 match against Ozark on Tuesday at JHS. Joplin secured two victories in doubles competition and two wins in singles. Pearl Gaines and Louisa Curchin recorded a 9-8 win in No. 1 doubles against Sarabellah Weathers and Finley Street, while the No. 3 team of Maggie Tyrrell and Ella Pagan earned an 8-3 victory over Mollee Shuck and Alaina Horton. In singles, Gaines and Curchin added points for Joplin with wins over Weathers and Street. Joplin head coach Ben Coltharp noted the competitive nature of the matchup despite the final result. The Eagles were scheduled to face Lebanon on Wednesday in Springfield, though results remain unconfirmed. The team finishes its weekly schedule on Thursday with a home match against Willard at 4:30 p.m.
