Jordan Burroughs signs with RAF, to debut in August

On Thursday, RAF announced it has signed legendary Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs to its roster. Burroughs is set to make his promotional debut at RAF 12 on Aug. 22 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland. View this post on Instagram Considered one of the greatest American wrestlers of all time, Burroughs was a two-time national champion in college for Nebraska before transitioning to the senior circuit, where he became a dominant force in the 74-kg weight class. Burroughs won the World Championship at 74 kgs in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017, also earning bronze in 2014, 2018, and 2019. The highlight of Burroughs’ wrestling career is his gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games. He attempted to replicate that feat in 2016 and was a heavy favorite, but failed to medal after a disappointing performance. He missed out on the 2020 Olympic team after losing to Kyle Dake at the U.S. trials. He rebounded by moving up to 79 kgs, where he won the World Championship in 2021 and 2022. Burroughs, 37, last competed at the 2024 World Championships, losing to multiple-time world medalist Mohammad Nokhodi. Burroughs debut opponent for RAF has yet to be announced.
