Jose Mourinho addresses compatibility of Real Madrid's star players

New Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho spoke on August 21 about the integration of star players Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham ahead of the La Liga opener against Espanyol. Mourinho emphasized the need for all players to contribute defensively, stating, "We have to defend with 11 players." He acknowledged the tactical challenges in blending the different styles of the players but expressed optimism for the upcoming season, pointing out their individual quality and compatibility. Mourinho aims to create a setup where all three can thrive together on the pitch, especially after a lack of major trophies since Mbappe's arrival in the summer of 2024.
