Jose Mourinho targets defensive improvements for Real Madrid

Real Madrid is expected to announce Jose Mourinho as their new manager soon, following Florentino Perez's re-election as president. The club has reportedly paid €15 million to Benfica to release Mourinho from his contract. While many see midfield as a priority for improvement, Mourinho believes defensive solidity is the main issue, seeking to address the 64 goals conceded last season. He is focusing on recruiting a left-back and a central defender, with players like Josko Gvardiol and Riccardo Calafiori linked to the club. Additionally, a new Galactico signing is anticipated this week, as Perez has pledged a €150 million bid.
