Joseph Blandisi terminates contract with Salavat Yulaev Ufa in KHL

Forward Joseph Blandisi has officially left the Kontinental Hockey League after reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract with Salavat Yulaev Ufa. The move comes less than one month after the team acquired Blandisi in a trade from SKA St. Petersburg for the KHL rights to Daniil Tarasov. During his single season with SKA St. Petersburg, the 32-year-old recorded 12 goals and 17 assists across 62 appearances. Blandisi spent the bulk of his professional career in North America, including stints with the New Jersey Devils, Anaheim Ducks, Pittsburgh Penguins, and multiple AHL affiliates. He last played in the NHL during the 2019-20 campaign with the Penguins and Montreal Canadiens. It remains unclear if he will seek another opportunity within the KHL or return to professional play in North America.
