Josh Hader considers future return to Milwaukee Brewers organization

Houston Astros closer Josh Hader expressed interest in returning to the Milwaukee Brewers during his career. Speaking on MLB Network, the 32-year-old indicated a desire to potentially rejoin his former club late in his playing days. Hader was traded by the Brewers in 2022 while sitting eight saves short of Dan Plesac’s franchise record of 163. The left-handed pitcher reached his 250th career save on September 4, 2026. Hader currently maintains a 0.70 ERA with 23 saves this season after recovering from left biceps tendinitis. He remains under contract with the Astros for two more years following the conclusion of the 2026 season.
