Josh Jobe secures interception to end late Seahawks drive against Patriots

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Josh Jobe recorded a decisive interception against New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye in the fourth quarter of the Week 1 matchup. With the Patriots trailing by three and driving at the Seattle 16-yard line with 26 seconds remaining, Maye attempted a pass toward the end zone that Jobe intercepted for a touchback. Jobe described his focus during the play as maintaining a ball-hawking mentality. The interception followed a series of drives for Maye, who had previously connected with Mack Hollins and Hunter Henry to move the ball into scoring range. Jobe, who joined the Seahawks as a practice squad member in 2024 before securing a starting role and a three-year contract extension, played a key role in the Seattle win. The game also featured early exits for key players AJ Brown and Sam Darnold.
