Josh McCowan prepares for home opener as FAU athletic director

Josh McCowan marks his first home football game as the leader of the Florida Atlantic University athletic department on September 12. The Owls are scheduled to host Navy for a home opener occurring one day after the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. McCowan, who was appointed as vice president and director of athletics on July 31, arrives from Mississippi State, where he managed revenue generation. He replaces Brian White, who transitioned to a role at Virginia Tech. McCowan plans to focus on revenue growth through ticket sales, licensing, and corporate partnerships to support the school’s 19 athletic programs. He intends to evaluate campus facilities for additional revenue-generating events beyond the team's football schedule.
