Josh Simon signs with the Washington Commanders practice squad

Tight end Josh Simon signed with the Washington Commanders practice squad on Tuesday. The move comes after Simon failed to make the Atlanta Falcons' 53-man roster following the preseason. During exhibition play, Simon recorded two catches for 29 yards against the Denver Broncos and one catch for 21 yards against the Indianapolis Colts. Atlanta elected to keep three tight ends on their active roster, leaving Simon available. The signing reunites Simon with Washington head coach Dan Quinn. Elsewhere, two other former Falcons players joined practice squads, with Nathan Carter signing with the Kansas City Chiefs and Chris Williams joining the Cleveland Browns. The Falcons have one remaining spot on their practice squad as they continue to evaluate players.
